Welcome to December

Love, Joy and Hope

As we enter the festive spirit of Christmas, a time where family and friends come together, a reason to celebrate the love that surrounds us, we are reminded how lucky we are.

I love being suspended in the present moment with magic in the air, the twinkling fairly lights, Christmas trees and sparkling hanging decorations.  Through its madness – the endless entertainment, manic shopping for special gifts and deadlines, there is always an undercurrent of love, friendship, joy and connectedness.

🌟

Christmas reminds us of the birth of Jesus, the miracle of life and growth, I love seeing the nativity plays in schools and listening to the carols. Nothing beats the sight of Mary and Joseph, the angels, 3 Wise Men and shepherds with tea towels on their heads and inevitably, the baby Jesus being held upside down!

Historically, the Christmas fir tree, the colourful centre piece of our rooms where presents are piled under, brought magically to us by Father Christmas, have been recorded since the Egyptians, the Greek and in Roman times. Way before the birth of Jesus, it was considered that evergreens’ needles were magical as they lasted all year round, when their cousins lost theirs during winter months. They perceived them as brave, warding off evil spirits and ghosts and in return bringing fertility and eternal life. The beautiful pine fragrance being relaxing.

As we celebrate this festive season, we can look back over the year and see how far we have come, the ups and downs, the fun and laughter and the learning curves we have journeyed through. A little like the ‘Ghost of Christmas Past’ and the ‘Ghost of Christmas Future’ from Dickens’ Scrooge, we can use our gift of hindsight to contemplate what lessons we have learnt, how we are feeling emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually and what makes us happy moving forwards? I find the completion of another year is cathartic, it’s healthy to review your life, your beliefs and make plans for the coming year.

This is the hope of Christmas!

🌟

Hanukkah is also celebrated at this time of year, falling at the same time, lasting eight days. The word Hanukkah means 'dedication' and celebrates one of the greatest miracles in Jewish history and is traditionally is celebrated with family and friends by lighting a candlestick called a Hanukah. Each of the eight branches represents the eight days of the miracle and they light one candle for each night of Hanukkah.

Like many festivals, I am interested by the symbolism of light. For me, this is a beautiful symbol to represent seeing into the darkness, illumination, victory and the celebration of rebirth and renewal

🌟

Let’s also take a moment to contemplate the less fortunate than ourselves, reach out to those who are struggling – consider this festive season as a time to think of others in need, trapped in war zones or caught in their own internal struggles.

If you are that person who is finding the festive season difficult, try to find the support in other people’s kindness, don’t hide away, there is always beauty and love shining from somewhere, we just need to be open to find it.

Around Christmas time, I often walk down into Chipping Norton to sit quietly in the beautiful, local church. I love spending time with my thoughts thinking about my loved ones in the Spirit World and sending healing to my friends and family who are suffering within their grief. Although I am blessed with my faith and beliefs about the afterlife, it never completely replaces a physical hug or kiss which our human body craves. Being close to Spirit feeling their presence around me brings comfort and happiness.

Let’s light a candle and make a wish for peace and love for everyone.

Energy of the Robin

Who doesn’t smile when they see the red breasted robin hopping around the garden, following your every move trying to catch you attention and singing on the branches with such an enchanting song!

Spiritually, the Robin, is a sign of transformation and rebirth, he pops up to remind us that there is always hope and joy surrounding us and nudges us to pay attention to the beauty in life. His protective, territorial natural fills us with the sense of protection, as he gracefully offers us strength.

We have all seen the phrase “Robins appear when loved ones are near.” And this is true because robins symbolise our loved ones in spirit making themselves known to us to bring us the message that they are safe, they are watching over us and that they love us. This sentiment itself showers us with feelings of comfort, happiness and encouragement.

These magnificent, small birds with huge presence also bring messages of positivity, new beginnings and healing through grief.

Symbolism of Christmas

Christmas symbolism is rich in meaning, both religious and non-religious. It is always interesting, I feel, to understand where some of our traditional decorative, festive ornaments come from. They are not just pretty decorations to make us smile, but are steeped with a deeper meaning.

Star – hope and miracles, it was the star of Bethlehem which guided the 3 Wise Men

Angels – messengers of God, bringing love, peace, purity, innocence, strength and guidance

Christmas Tree – represents birth and resurrection, the fir tree is evergreen so symbolises life and growth, immortality

Holly – a circle of thorns worn by Jesus Christ on the cross, the red berries represent his blood

Wreath – as the holly, but the circle shape stands for eternal life, hope, love and joy

Bells – ringing of the bells celebrates joy and happiness

Mistletoe fertility based upon a Pagan tradition

Lights – “light up the world” Lights, including candles guide us through the darkness

Candy Canes – represents the shepherds’ staff, the red and white stripes signify Jesus’ blood and the purity of Christ

‘Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart.” The Polar Express

Crystal of the Month

This month I am drawn to the crystal Lepidolite

This amazing crystal brings us a sense of peace and tranquillity, helping us to ease those feelings of fear and anxiety. Just holding it in the palms of your hands, connecting with its energy, you can begin to feel the harmonious waves flooding your aura, soothing your mind, connecting you to your inner stillness.

Even its beautiful colour, lilac-pink is mesmerising! Connecting to the heart chakra, lepidolite helps us to open ourselves to love – we all need love, especially around the busy Christmas period when emotions can run high and deep.

Archangel Wisdom

'God Is My Strength’

He is the angel of child conception, including working with parents who wish to adopt.  Archangel helps us with loving communication. He over-lights our joy, helping us to see with more clarity and brings hope. Archangel Gabriel is a mighty powerful archangel and I call upon him regularly for many reasons. He feels strong, knowledgeable and dependable with a gentle embrace. He works with The Base, The Sacral and The Navel chakras which are associated with our basic needs, our strength and grounding. These chakras also focus on our security, loving relationships and our helps to clear lower energies. Imagine a diamond and this shows how Archangel Gabriel shines.

What I am offering in December

1:1 ReadingsGuidance, reassurance, love and healing - this is how I would describe my readings. During the reading I will connect you with your loved ones in the Spirit World, bringing through evidential evidence and sharing messages of love, hope, understanding and guidance.

Past Life Regression - Finding out who you have been in a Past Life is not only interesting but can help you identify repetitive emotional and behavioural patterns, it could be the reason you are attracted to certain people (positive and negative) or could be the reason you are feeling blocked in your current situation.

Past Life Regression can be an amazing revelation, helping you to understand who you are and the lessons you have learnt along the way. It can bring wisdom and the realisation to set free any Karma you no longer need to hold on to.

Bespoke Spiritual Guidance for working mediums - If you are a working medium and have hit some blocks or stumbles along the way and are possibly questioning your gifts, then maybe a session to ‘untangle’ and get re-aligned is what you need. Maybe you simply want to develop and strengthen your gifts and prefer to do this under 1:1 supervision.
